Pharmachologic effect

Pills render anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antispasmodic action.

Indications for use Novigan

Novigan tablets are indicated for:

  • mild or mild pain observed when smooth muscles of the internal organs are exposed cramping - intestinal, biliary and renal colicas well as in the case biliary dyskinesia;
  • dysmenorrhea;

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Novigan is a combination drug that has antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. The medicine suppresses prostaglandin synthesis. The composition of the drug contains ibuprofenbeing a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, fenpiverinium bromide - m-anticholinergic agent with peripheral and central action, as well as myotropic antispasmodic pitophenone hydrochloride.

Pitophenone hydrochloride causes relaxation of the muscles of the internal organs, exerting a direct myotropic effect on it.

Ibuprofen (derived from phenylpropionic acid) has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. The main effect of the substance is to inhibit the synthesis prostaglandinswhich are modulators of thermoregulation, pain sensitivity and inflammation in the peripheral tissues and CNS. In women suffering from primary dysmenorrhealevel decreases prostaglandins at myometriumthereby reducing heart rate and intrauterine pressure.

Fenpiverinia bromide It has an additional relaxing effect on smooth muscles due to its anticholinergic action.

Combined, these three main components mutually enhance the pharmacological effect of each other.

The components that make up Novigan are perfectly absorbed into Gastrointestinal tract. After administration, approximately 1–2 hours later, in blood plasma peak drug concentration is reached. Ibuprofen, the main component of this medicine, almost completely (99%) binds to blood plasma proteinsmay also occur in synovial fluid. This component metabolized in the liver and 90% is excreted together with urine in the form conjugates and metabolites. A small part of Novigan, along with bile, is escaped. The half-life of blood plasma is 2 hours.

When taking Novigan in therapeutic doses with other commonly used drugs, significant interactions do not occur.

Microsomal oxidation inhibitors reduce the risk of what will develop hepatotoxic effect.

In the liver, inducers of microsomal oxidation enzymes (ethanol, flumecinol, phenylbutazone, phenytonin, rifampicin, tricyclic antidepressants, barbiturates) increases the production of hydroxylated active metabolites, thereby increasing the risk that heavy intoxication will develop.

Is going down natriuretic effect hydrochlorothiazide and furosemide, as well as hypotensive activity of vasodilators.

Efficiency uricosuric drugs are reduced.

There is an increased risk that bleeding will develop due to increased drug action fibrinolyticsindirect anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents.

Absorption ibuprofen is reduced cholestyramine and antacids.

The drug enhances the likely side effects. estrogen, ethanol, GKS (increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding) mineralocorticosteroids; derivatives sulfonylureas when interacting with the drug, they strengthen their hypoglycemic effect.

Concentration digoxin in the blood as well as drugs methotrekstatand lithiumincreases.
The simultaneous administration of the drug with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs increases the frequency of possible side effects.

Action is intensified butyrophenones, quinidine, phenothiazinesblockers H1-histamine receptors, amantadine, m-anticholinergic blockers.

When the drug interacts with caffeine is increasing analgesic effect.

In case of simultaneous reception with acetylsalicylic acid dropping her antiaggregant and anti-inflammatory action (in patients who receive small doses of acetylsalicylic acid as an antiplatelet agent, after the use of Novigan acute coronary insufficiency can develop with increased frequency).

Manifestations of hematotoxicity of the drug are enhanced myelotoxic drugs.

In case of simultaneous use of Novigan with cefoperazone, valproic acid, cefamandol, cefotetane or plicamycin development frequency increases hypoprothrombinemia.

Gold preparations and cyclosporin enhance the effect of ibuprofen on the synthesis in the kidneys of PG, the effect of which is manifested in an increase nephrotoxicity. Plasma concentration of cyclosporine, as well as the likelihood that hepatotoxic effects will develop, increase with ibuprofen.

Drugs that block tubular secretionincrease the plasma concentration of ibuprofen, and also reduce its excretion.
